Chiropractic
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, especially those of the spine, and their effects on the nervous system.Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in movement are found. This improves mobility and relieves pain. Poor, inadequate or incorrect function of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves that control your posture and movement. By adjusting joints, chiropractors stimulate the joint movement receptors affecting the way your nervous system works.

Caragh Pittam B.Sc.(Hons.), D.C, LRCC.
– FOUNDER & DIRECTOR –
Caragh graduated in 1983 from the AECC (Anglo European College of Chiropractic) in Bournemouth, Dorset after graduating from Southampton University in 1980 with a degree in Physiology and Biochemistry. Caragh uses soft tissue work and diversified chiropractic techniques to treat a range of spinal and joint problems. Caragh also uses SOT (Sacro Occipital Technique).
She treats all kinds of pain syndromes, especially difficult cases that have been resistant to other forms of therapies, or diagnosis, and treats not only the spine but all other joints, muscles, ligaments of the body and therefore helps many sporting and dance injuries.
Caragh treats children and adults alike and her oldest patient was 100 years old. Caragh is a traditional chiropractor and only uses ‘hands on treatment’.
Gabriel Blake.
– DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC –
Gabriel graduated from the AECC (Anglo European College of Chiropractic) with a masters degree in chiropractic. Gabriel is a dedicated, intuitive chiropractor, having spent time mastering a mixture of techniques such as; SOT (sacro-occipital technique), Thompson and additional evidence based modalities tailored to any persons needs.
Specialising in applying specific biomechanical modifications to patients with functional or structural movement pattern issues; Gabriel enjoys answering the questions produced by complex pain presentations. He appreciates that there is very rarely a simple presentation but there is always a reason why, and by addressing this reason people achieve great outcomes.
Gabriel has worked with professional athletes ranging from rugby players to Ballerinas. Due to his background in endurance training his insight into functional movement planes helps contextualise how ‘small’ injuries have a domino effect, and how small tweaks have the potential to hugely improve someone’s’ condition over time. Gabriel commonly treats nerve entrapments in the upper and lower body, overuse or traumatic onset injuries.
He truly enjoys the process of getting to the bottom of the patients issues and getting to know people throughout the process, Gabriel loves to explain things about the body because he is passionate about keeping people living better for longer.
When Gabriel isn’t in clinic or training (on the bike, swimming, running), he spends his time with his dog, you might catch him and Nigel anywhere in London from Brixton to Bermondsey.
What to expect
On first meeting you, the chiropractor will take a detailed history of your health, your reasons for seeking a consultation and a full examination will then be undertaken.
Sometimes treatment is immediate, at other times it may be necessary to seek further information from your GP, or to arrange x-rays, blood or urine tests. Your individual needs and your role in the treatment plan will be discussed and considered with you at all times.
Chiropractic care mainly involves treatment by manipulation to the joints of the spine or other areas of the body. Most often this involves a short impulse to the joint, resulting in an audible ‘crack’ as the joint is released, bringing relief of symptoms. The crack is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released. This is known as an ‘adjustment.’
Generally, chiropractic treatment does not hurt, although there may be some minor short-term discomfort, which quickly passes for most patients.
You will find that ensuing treatments are easier as you start to find your symptoms are subsiding.
What people say about us
“Caragh is very experienced and professional, but I knew, as soon as she laid her hands on me, that what makes her really good at her job, is the fact that she is honest and she genuinely cares. I trust her and would recommend her to anyone I love.”

“I’d been having problems with my knee for almost 5 years; I couldn’t play football for more than 20 mins without having to stop. After just 3 sessions with Caragh I played a full game today without having any issues at all. Caragh’s literally a chiropractic magician!
– Albert Oliver –
